Research and Teaching
Professor Metcalf began her teaching career at Indiana University, taught as a Fulbright lecturer in Brazil, and made her academic home for many years at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. In June, 2009 she joined the faculty at Rice. Her current research focuses on go-between and cartographers in the sixteenth-century Atlantic world.
