David R. Dow is the Cullen Professor at the University of Houston Law Center. He is the author of both scholarly legal works and books aimed at a general audience, such as Executed on a Technicality, America's Prophets: How Judicial Activism Makes America Great, and The Autobiography of an Execution, which was a 2010 finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award in Autobiography. He is the founder and director of the Texas Innocence Network.
A 1981 graduate of Rice University, Professor Dow is a committed teacher of undergraduates and history graduate students as well as law students. As our Rorschach Visiting Professor, he teaches one course a year in the Department of History.
