Research Interests:

My current research focuses on how the introduction of Euro-American patrilineal property traditions challenged Creek matrilineages and identity. Furthermore, I am interested in the ways that gender, race, and class conflicts intersected in interactions between the Native Americans of the Southeast, peoples of African descent, and Euro-Americans during the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries, particularly through the process of ethnogenesis.
