We offer a diverse and exciting range of undergraduate classes that explore the human experience, from ancient Rome and medieval Central Asia to the Indian Ocean, colonial Brazil, modern China, Mexico, the American South, and much more. Our award-winning faculty members are celebrated for their teaching talents as well as their cutting edge research publications, offering small discussion-based classes at every level.

Undergraduate research in history is supported through generous endowments, such as the Garside Prize and the Gruber fund, which fund undergraduate research on a local, national and international level, and the history major is flexible and customizable emphasizing comparative studies across time and geographic regions.
